Tottenham target Paulo Dybala offered bumper new contract at Juventus
According to Tuttosport, as relayed by ESPN, Paulo Dybala, who has been on the radars of Tottenham Hotspur for a while now, has been offered a bumper new contract by Juventus.
Dybala has been with Juventus since 2015, having joined from fellow Serie A side Palermo. Having been a regular for the majority of his stint in Turin, the Argentine has struggled for game time under Andrea Pirlo this season.
That, coupled with his contract that expires in 2022, had led to speculations over his future, with reports claiming that his services had been offered to a host of clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.
Dybala scored his first Serie A goal of the season this past weekend against Genoa and speaking after the match, the 27-year-old claimed that he hadn’t been offered a new deal. (h/t ESPN)
However, Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has contradicted the forward’s statements, saying that the club has in fact made the Argentine a new offer, and a bumper one at that.
The report, that carries Agnelli’s quotes, suggests that not only have Juventus have made an offer to extend Dybala’s current deal beyond 2022 but also the offer would him Dybala among “the top 20 best-paid players in Europe.”

Dybala, despite his ongoing difficult period at Juventus, is a world-class player, who would elevate any team he played for. Going by the comments from both parties, it does seem like things are far from being resolved.
Should that be the case come summer, Tottenham should certainly look into the possibility of signing him as he would be in the final year of his contract.
