Jose Mourinho provides an update on Erik Lamela, Gareth Bale ahead of Leicester clash

As reported by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has issued an update on the conditions of Erik Lamela and Gareth Bale ahead of the club’s Premier League clash against Leicester City.

Gareth Bale missed the last two games against Crystal Palace and Liverpool with an illness. But ahead of the game against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon, Mourinho has confirmed that the Welsh wing-wizard is back in contention for selection.

“He’s fine. Trained yesterday with the team, trained today with the team. Looks ok. So if tomorrow, he does it normally like he did normally in the last two days, he’s fine.”

The return of Bale should come as good news for Tottenham, who will be aiming to bounce back to winning ways after the midweek defeat to Liverpool.

However, Mourinho will once again be unable to call upon Erik Lamela, but there is some good news as the Argentine has returned to training. However, he is still some way away from making a comeback. (h/t Football.london)

“Lamela trained I cannot say 100% with the team, but it was the first day when he did a couple of exercises with us, so coming to the end of his injury. But of course not ready to play, not even very close to play.”

Apart from the duo, Mourinho also provided an update on Japhet Tanganga, confirming that the young defender is ruled out with the shoulder injury he picked up last week against Royal Antwerp.
