Fans hit out at Serge Aurier after he concedes a penalty in Leicester defeat
Tottenham fans were far from pleased with the performance of Serge Aurier as the club lost to Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Coming into the game on the back of two games without a win, it was absolutely imperative that Jose Mourinho & co. pick up all three points against the Foxes. But a Jamie Vardy penalty in the first-half stoppage time and a Toby Alderweireld own goal handed Brendan Rodgers’ men a 2-0 victory on the day.
It was a cagey first period with neither team creating a great deal and just when it seemed like it would end goalless, a penalty was awarded against us after consultation with VAR as Serge Aurier appeared to have barged in on Wesley Fofana from the box.
It was an absolutely unnecessary foul from the Ivory Coast international, as he almost rugby-tackled the Leicester defender just inside the area, with Vardy making no mistake from the spot.
Having shown major improvement in his recent performances, Aurier was back to his error-prone ways on the day and Tottenham fans were displeased with the defender’s performance against Leicester.
Fan Reactions
Can someone please get Aurier out of the club, absolute liability.

Aurier need to be put down, one of the worst defenders the premier league has ever seen

And this is why I’ll never back Aurier to be a starter for us. The man can go as many matches in great form as he wants, but you just know at some point he’ll do something brainless. Tiger don’t change his spots. Mou deserves this for sticking with him over Doherty.

All we want for Christmas is a right back we can rely on! In a tight game you just can’t keep on giving away penalties and free kicks. WHEN will he learn? Please get him out in January unless we just want to surrender again!

That is vintage Aurier and why I prefer Doherty. He doesn’t appear to be anywhere near as reckless as Aurier. There was literally not a single reason in the world that was needed with his back away from goal
