Jose Mourinho takes dig Jurgen Klopp after FIFA Coach of the Year win
As reported by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has taken another shot at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp following the latter’s FIFA Best Coach of the Year Award win.
Klopp was named the best coach in the awards hosted by football’s governing body earlier this week. The German tactician beat Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick to the honour, despite the latter leading the Bavarians to the Bundesliga title, the DFB Pokal and the UEFA Champions League triumph.
Flick also led Bayern to the German Super Cup and the UEFA Super Cup triumph earlier this year.
In comparison, Klopp led Liverpool to their first-ever Premier League title and Jose Mourinho clearly felt that Flck was more deserving of the award, claiming that the Bayern Munich boss might have to create and win two or three more trophies to win the honour. (h/t Football.london)
“I think the only chance for Flick to win is that Bayern find two or three new competitions for him to win! So maybe if he wins seven titles in one season, maybe he wins the award.
“I believe he only won Champions League, Bundesliga, Pokal, the name of their [domestic] cup, European Cup, German Super Cup… he only won five, and the biggest one of all. Poor Flick. I think the only chance is for Bayern to find two or three more trophies to see if he can win it.”
