Harry Kane and Son Heung-min likened to Alan Shearer and Teddy Sheringham
Writing in his latest column for BBC, former England international Alan Shearer has compared the partnership of Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Son Heung-min to the one he shared with Teddy Sheringham.
Despite having been playing together at the club for five years, Kane and Son haven’t looked as deadly as they have this season as a partnership. The England captain has been dropping deep to great effect to get on the ball and set his attacking partner through on goal.
This has seen his assist-rate rise up the charts a great deal. And Shearer has hailed the understanding the duo share, comparing it with the partnership he had with ex-Spurs striker Sheringham.
“Their partnership reminds me of the one I was lucky enough to have with Teddy Sheringham for England. He knew exactly what I was going to do, and I was the same was him.”
The Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer further praised Kane’s vision and ability to play that killer pass into the final third.
“His long passing is one of the things that makes him special. Any striker could come deep looking for the ball like Kane does, but not many have his vision or ability to hurt teams from their own half.”
