Tottenham linked with a move for Nikola Milenkovic
According to Italian publication La Nazione (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs interested in signing Fiorentina’s Serbian defender Nikola Milenkovic.
The 23-year-old Serbian centre-back came through the youth ranks at Partizan Belgrade in his homeland Serbia and joined Fiorentina in the summer of 2017. Since moving to Italy, Milenkovic has made 111 appearances for the Viola, scoring ten goals and assisting one more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
In the ongoing campaign, the Serbian defender has featured fifteen times in all competitions, contributing with two goals and an assist. He also has 26 appearances for the Serbian national team since making his debut in 2018.
Milenkovic’s current contract with the Serie A outfit runs out in 2022. And it has previously been reported that the centre-back has no desire to pen a new deal, leading to speculations over his future at the club.
Now, it is being claimed that Tottenham are interested in signing the 23-year-old Serbian international and have approached his agent over a possible move. However, Spurs are not the only Premier League club interested in signing Milenkovic, with our rivals Manchester United also keen.
Fiorentina, for their part, are keen on tying Milenkovic down to a new contract. However, they would be open to a sale should an offer of around £23m comes along.
