Newcastle United and Everton eyeing January swoop for Dele Alli
According to The Telegraph (h/t Express), Newcastle United and Everton are considering a loan move for out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli in the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old has been with the club since 2015, having arrived from lower league outfit MK Dons. During his time at the club, Alli flourished into one of the best attacking midfielders in the country and played a key role in our rise under Mauricio Pochettino.
However, Alli has struggled for form over the past eighteen months or so, that has seen him drop out of favour under Jose Mourinho. Indeed, the Portuguese tactician has hardly used the England international in the Premier League this term.
Mourinho’s latest snub of Alli in the weekend fixture against Leicester City, when he was omitted from the matchday squad, despite being allowed to name nine substitutes has only served to fuel speculations over his future at the club.
And, as per the aforementioned report, both Newcastle United and Everton are considering offering the Englishman a way out, by signing him on loan till the end of the season. (h/t Express)
Alli was subject of three failed loan bids by French champions Paris Saint-Germain back in the summer. And, there remains a possibility that they, too, could return for the 24-year-old next month.

As things stand, Alli’s future at Tottenham looks far from certain. Given how sparingly Mourinho has used him, an exit could be the best possible outcome for everyone involved, considering Alli’s services and contributions to the club for all these years.
