Tottenham have not contacted Millwall to cut short Troy Parrott loan
As reported by London News Online, Millwall manager Gary Rowett has claimed that there has been no contact from Tottenham to cut short the loan spell of striker Troy Parrott.
The 18-year-old Irish striker joined the EFL Championship outfit on loan in the summer transfer window. However, he has endured a frustrating spell so far at the club with injuries hampering him.
As a result, Parrott has featured just eight times in the Championship and is yet to open his goalscoring account for the club. His situation led to reports in the media claiming that Tottenham were ready to cut short his loan spell at Millwall and send him out somewhere else in January. (h/t London News Online)
However, Rowett has dismissed those claims, insisting that there has been no contact from Tottenham over such a decision.
“I was a little bit surprised to read a story which I’m not sure how much credence that has got in terms of being real, because we certainly have not had anything from Tottenham in terms of that is their intention – to recall him.”
The Millwall boss acknowledged that things have been difficult for Parrott with injuries and also insisted that there were areas where the youngster needs to improve on. He also added that he and the club want to continue working with the Tottenham youngster.
“He’s a very, very good player and we know he is going to improve as the season goes on and he’s going to do what he needs to do to hopefully go back and challenge to be in Tottenham’s team. That was always the intention for me – nothing has changed.”

It has not been easy for Parrott at Millwall. But, it does seem like Rowett rates the striker highly and staying put for the rest of the season could be the right way to go about things.
