Tottenham eye Weston McKennie as Dele Alli replacement
According to Italian publication Calciomercato (h/t IBTimes), Tottenham Hotspur are looking at on-loan Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie as an option to replace Dele Alli.
The 24-year-old Alli finds himself out of favour under Jose Mourinho in the current season. The England international has found game-time hard to come by so far. And following the criticism that the Portuguese meted out to him last week after the Stoke City clash, his future at the club is looking increasingly bleak.
Indeed, Alli has been linked with a potential transfer to French champions Paris Saint-Germain, where Mauricio Pochettino is tipped to take over as the new manager.
And, as per the aforementioned report, Tottenham are looking at USMNT international Weston McKennie as a possible candidate to replace the former MK Dons man. Having spent his youth footballing years in the US, the 22-year-old moved to Europe in 2016, joining FC Schalke.
Having established himself as a regular for the Bundesliga giants over the past couple of years, McKennie moved to Juventus this last summer, joining on a season-long loan, with the Italians having the option of making the transfer permanent at the end of the term.
The report also goes on to claim that the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are also monitoring the midfielder’s progress.

McKennie, so far this term, has made 15 appearances for Juventus, scoring and assisting two goals apiece. He also has 19 appearances for the USMNT. A fine young prospect, the 22-year-old has a lot of potential. However, with Juventus having the chance to make his transfer permanent, a move for him might be a bit complicated.
