Mauricio Pochettino has contacted Dele Alli over PSG transfer in January
According to Foot Mercato via Caught Offside (h/t Football.london), newly-appointed PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino has contacted Tottenham ace, Dele Alli, over a potential January transfer.
The 24-year-old midfielder joined Tottenham from MK Dons in 2015 and grew into one of the best attacking midfielders in the country under the tutelage of Pochettino. However, over the past year or so, the England international has seen his form decline and, as a result, has been out of favour under Jose Mourinho.
Since the start of the 2020/21 season, Alli has started just one Premier League game, in which he was taken off at half-time. Alli has had to make do with minutes in the UEFA Europa League for the most part.
And his most recent substitution in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals against Stoke City and the criticism from Jose that followed only served to fuel speculations that he could be on his way out this month.
PSG, who were keen on signing Alli back in the summer, are willing to offer him an escape route in the January window. To that end, their new manager Mauricio Pochettino has already held talks with the England international over a potential transfer.
Pochettino was appointed the new boss at PSG last week after Thomas Tuchel was sacked around Christmas. The Argentine had been without a job since being sacked by Tottenham in November last year. And, he is now looking to reunite with Alli in France.
