Tottenham target Demarai Gray in talks with Ligue 1 side Marseille
According to the Daily Mail, Leicester City winger Demarai Gray, who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, has opened talks with French club Marseille about a free transfer in the summer.
Having joined the Foxes from Birmingham City in 2016, Gray has failed to establish himself as a regular at the King Power Stadium. In five years at the club, the winger has made 169 appearances so far, most of which have come from the bench. He has managed to score just 13 goals and set up 17 more.
In the final year of his contract with Leicester, Gray is widely expected to leave at the end of the season when his deal runs out. And, Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for the Englishman, ever since the summer transfer window. (h/t Brighton & Hove Independent)
However, Tottenham could have been dealt a major blow in the pursuit of the 24-year-old. With Gray in the last six months of his deal, he is free to talk to foreign clubs over the possibility of a free transfer at the end of the season. And, Marseille have seemingly capitalised on the situation to hold talks with the player’s camp. (h/t Express)

Gray, despite his struggles at Leicester, is a player with potential. At 24, the Englishman has his best years well ahead of him. Considering that and the fact that he will be available on a free transfer, taking a punt on him wouldn’t be the worst idea.
But, there is also interest in him from the likes of AS Monaco and SL Benfica. Now, with Marseille already swooping and holding talks, things might be a tad difficult to get a deal done.
