Tottenham loanee Oliver Skipp full of praise for Jose Mourinho

In a recent interview with Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur youngster Oliver Skipp, who is on loan at Norwich City, has hailed Jose Mourinho for his man-management skills.

A product of the Tottenham youth academy, Skipp made his senior debut for the club in 2018. Since then, he has made 23 first-team appearances, registering two assists in the process.

However, regular playing time not forthcoming due to the options at Mourinho’s disposal, Skipp moved to Championship outfit Norwich City on loan for the season. The 20-year-old has been very impressive at Carrow Road, starting each of their 23 league games.

This had sparked talks of a potential January recall from Tottenham, which Mourinho dismissed, insisting that it was important for Skipp to continue playing regularly. Now, the 20-year-old has heaped praises on his manager, having been impressed by his man-management skills.

“That’s the thing about him, he treats everyone with the same respect. I’m not Harry Kane or Hugo Lloris, but he still gave me the respect that I could go and talk to him. In terms of his man-management, he is brilliant. He knows when to push someone or when to give them some love.”

Skipp also revealed that Jose had been in contact with him on a few occasions.

“He’s messaged me a few times this season actually, which is a really nice touch, just to show he’s watching and aware of what I’m doing. He’s been really positive.”
