Bayern Munich interested in signing Tottenham target Eder Militao as David Alaba replacement

A report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (h/t Daily Mail) claims that Bayern Munich are linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur target Eder Militao.

The German club sees him as a replacement for David Alaba, who is heavily linked with an exit. Militao is a ‘plan B’ for Bayern as they still remain keen on signing RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.

A report by  Daily Mail last week claimed that Eder Militao is on Jose Mourinho’s transfer list. He is also linked with a return to his former club FC Porto.

Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Real Madrid defender Eder Militao who is also a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur.

But Madrid would be looking to get somewhere around the £43m sum they paid to Porto for his transfer back in 2019. Los Blancos are themselves are highly keen on signing wantaway Bayern defender David Alaba.

A good addition for Spurs?

This news comes as a blow Tottenham if they did intend on signing the 22-year-old Brazilian. Militao has just 3 league appearances this season for Madrid, where he is below Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane and Nacho in the pecking order.

The out-of-favour Madrid defender is also versatile as he is capable of playing at right-back, centre-back, as well as in defensive midfield. He would add depth and quality to the squad if he does join the Lilywhites.

The defender is just 22 years old and still has a lot of years of football ahead of him. But now Tottenham have Bayern Munich to worry about if they aim to land the former Porto defender.

Spurs are not doing too bad defensively. However, adding a player like Militao could help the team shore things up even more at the back.
