Tottenham Hotspur youngster Brandon Austin joins Orlando City on loan
As confirmed by the club’s official website, promising Tottenham Hotspur youngster Brandon Austin has completed a loan switch to Major League Soccer outfit Orlando City.
The 22-year-old started out at the Chelsea academy, before switching to Tottenham. The youngster has progressed at an impressive rate through the youth ranks at the club.
Till date, Austin has turned out 44 times for Spurs’ U23 outfit, keeping seven clean sheets in the process. However, he is yet to make a senior appearance for the North London giants. But, he did make it to the bench in four Premier League matches in the season gone by and four times in the UEFA Europa League this term.
Austin spent the second half of the last season out on loan at Danish outfit Viborg. He featured 14 times for them, keeping one clean sheet. Now, the 22-year-old has departed on another temporary spell, this time to the MLS where he will stay till the end of the MLS season.
The MLS outfit’s EVP, Luiz Muzzi, issued a statement upon the signing of Austin on loan from Tottenham.
“The addition of Brandon to our roster is an exciting step in solidifying our 2021 roster and we’re expecting that his background from Tottenham’s academy and youth system will not only add a different perspective, but also create further competition amongst our strong goalkeeping core.”
Brandon Austin has joined @OrlandoCitySC on loan for the duration of the @MLS season, subject to international clearance.
