Jose Mourinho tells Real Madrid he is ‘fed up’ with Gareth Bale as club unlikely to keep him beyond summer
A report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central (h/t Wales Online) mentions that Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is unlikely to keep Gareth Bale beyond the summer transfer window.
Bale spent more than 6 years at Spurs since his transfer from Southampton in 2007. He departed for Spain in 2013 but returned to London on a season-long loan last summer.
His return to the club has not worked out well and Mourinho is not in favour of keeping him at the club once the next season begins. He is also said to be ‘fed up’ with the Welshman. (h/t Wales Online)
The report also mentions that the Portuguese boss has expressed his ‘disappointment’ and ‘discontent’ with the 31-year-old to Real Madrid president Fiorentino Perez.
What next for Bale?
Bale’s return was greeted with a lot of expectations and excitement by the Spurs faithful. His season so far, however, has been highly disappointing.
The on-loan winger has started just two Premier League games all season. However, he didn’t complete the full 90 minutes in either of those games.
Nevertheless, he started all six of Tottenham’s Europa League group stage games. But that just goes on to show that Mourinho does not think of him as a starter in his Spurs XI.
Recently, the Welsh international got embroiled in a controversy with Mourinho over an Instagram post which he made.

Bale was loaned to Spurs after he failed to cement a starting spot under Zinedine Zidane. If he does return to Madrid in the summer, which looks likely as of now, he will still have one more year on his contract with Los Galacticos.
