Julian Nagelsmann drops future hint amid Tottenham Hotspur links
Speaking to The Telegraph (h/t Football.london), RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann who has been linked with Tottenham, has claimed that he intends to see out his contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
According to a report from The Athletic (subscription required), there are clouds of uncertainty looming around the future of Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese has come under intense pressure after a torrid run of results that has seen the club lose five of their last six games in all competitions.
This has led to Tottenham dropping to the ninth place in the Premier League table while also crashing out of the FA Cup. With Mourinho’s position coming under intense scrutiny, RB Leipzig boss Nagelsmann has been identified as one of the possible candidates to replace him. (h/t The Athletic)
However, the German tactician has poured cold water over the club’s hopes of landing him as he has claimed that he wants to see out his contract with Leipzig that runs till 2023. (h/t Football.london)
“I have a contract now until 2023 so I think I will stay in Leipzig. The Premier League is a very interesting league and I can imagine it could be a big aim to be a big manager in the Premier League one day like Jurgen who is very successful. It could be a step in the future.”
Another name that has been doing the rounds as a potential candidate to replace Mourinho is that of Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers.
