Mourinho provides Son Heung-min injury update after Arsenal defeat Tottenham
According to the Express, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has provided an update on the condition of Son Heung-min after he went off injured against Arsenal.
Tottenham came into the game on the back of a five-game winning run but failed to make a positive start at the Emirates. Things got worse for Mourinho & co. as Son had to be taken off from the field with less than 20 minutes up on the clock.
While his replacement, Erik Lamela, put Tottenham in front with an audacious Rabona goal, Arsenal hit back through Martin Odegaard and a dubious Alexandre Lacazette penalty to pick up a 2-1 win.
Speaking to the media after the game, Mourinho provided an insight into Son Heung-min’s situation, insisting that it was a muscular injury but he hoped that it wouldn’t be serious.
“That’s football, I don’t know how long it is. [It] is muscular. Muscular is always not easy. He’s a guy that normally he recovers very, very well from any kind of injury. And that’s football. That’s accumulation of matches.
“In Europa League I gave him 30 minutes rest, so 90 minus 30 is 60, but 60 is still 60. And when you are in so many competitions, some players they have more minutes than others, which is normal, something that can happen.”

Son Heung-min has been one of Tottenham Hotspur’s best players this season along with Harry Kane. With the business end of the campaign almost upon us, we can only hope that the South Korean returns from his injury quickly.
As for Tottenham, following the defeat to Arsenal, the focus will now shift to the Europa League where Mourinho will be looking to beat Dinamo Zagreb and qualify for the quarterfinals.
