Tottenham ready to listen to transfer offers for Davinson Sanchez in the summer
According to Football Insider (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur are ready to listen to transfer offers for defender Davinson Sanchez in the summer window.
The 24-year-old Colombian international arrived at Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2017 from Dutch giants AFC Ajax in a then club-record £42m transfer. However, he has never quite been able to nail down a regular starting berth at the club.
While there have been promising signs in plenty, at the same time Sanchez has also made quite a few glaring errors demonstrating inconsistencies at the back. For large parts of the ongoing campaign, it seemed like the former Ajax man had fallen out of favour under current manager Jose Mourinho.
But that has changed in recent weeks as Sanchez has been able to earn his place back in the side, at the expense of Eric Dier and has put in some impressively solid displays at the heart o the Tottenham defence.
So, the timing of the claim from the aforementioned report comes as a bit of a surprise. Nevertheless, it is claimed that Tottenham will listen to offers for Sanchez in the upcoming transfer window.
The report adds that Mourinho feels he cannot rely on the Colombian and that his recovery pace and courage do not make up for deficiencies in other facets of his game.
It is also said that the Tottenham manager has already instructed super-agent Jorge Mendes to find him a new centre-back as he looks to replace the Colombian.

Sanchez gave away a questionable penalty leading to Tottenham losing 2-1 to Arsenal in the North London Derby this past weekend. The 24-year-old’s inconsistency has been a major issue throughout his time at the club. And it seems that Mourinho has ran out of patience with him and will axe him in the summer.
