Tottenham, Chelsea willing to pay £48m to sign Juventus star Paulo Dybala
According to France Football via Sport Witness (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are willing to splash €55m (£48m) to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old has been with Juventus since 2015, having joined from Palermo and has gone on to taste great success with the Bianconeri. However, over the past couple of seasons, Dybala has seen his importance in Turin go down greatly.
The Argentine international did not enjoy regular game time under ex-manager Maurizio Sarri last season. And it has been a similar situation under current manager Andrea Pirlo, who has also been reluctant to use Dybala on a regular basis. Matters haven’t been helped by the forward’s injury problems either.
Nonetheless, with the 27-year-old set to enter the final year of his contract with Juventus at the end of the season, Tottenham are reportedly willing to pay £48m to sign up Dybala from Juventus. However, Spurs will face stiff competition in his pursuit from London rivals Chelsea, who are also said to be interested.
Dybala is a long-term transfer target for Tottenham. The club had come very close to signing the Argentine international back in the summer of 2019 but the deal fell through due to image rights issues. (h/t Daily Mail)

Dybala, despite his recent problems, remains a player of top quality. So, bringing in someone like him would be a huge boost for Tottenham while it will also relieve some of the pressure on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
With Juventus facing financial losses amidst the pandemic, the club might be forced to sell players in the summer. It remains to be seen if Dybala is among those and if so, whether Tottenham make another attempt at landing him, two years after the deal fell through.
