Transfer News: Tottenham among PL teams monitoring Aaron Boupendza
As per the latest transfer news from 90min.com, Tottenham Hotspur are among a host of Premier League clubs monitoring Hatayspor’s 24-year-old striker Aaron Boupendza.
Boupendza started out at CF Mounana in his homeland Gabon and signed for French club Bordeaux in 2016. During his time at the club, the striker had loan stints away at Pau FC, GFC Ajaccio, Tours FC and Feirense. He signed for Hatayspor on a permanent basis in the summer last year.
Since moving to Turkey, Boupendza has managed to make a solid impression, banging in 18 goals from 26 appearances in the Super Lig. His form has helped the club to sixth place in the league table in their first season in the Turkish top flight.
Naturally, the striker has piqued the interest of several clubs with Russian outfit Krasnodar even failing with an offer as Boupendza rejected their advances. Turkish giants Fenerbahce are also said to be keen, but the Gabonese striker has his sights set on a transfer to the Premier League.
And as per the report, a number of clubs in the English top-flight are monitoring Boupendza with the possibility of a transfer, with Tottenham among those teams.
Tottenham will need to address their striker issue once again in the summer when Carlos Vinicius‘ loan deal comes to an end. Harry Kane remains the undisputed first-choice but Jose Mourinho & co. need some quality cover for the Englishman.
Vinicius has done fairly well on loan but it remains to be seen whether Spurs have been convinced to turn his loan move into a permanent one. And this is where a transfer for Boupendza to Tottenham could become a possibility.
