Transfer News: Tottenham star Sergio Reguilon eyed by Everton
According to Spanish outlet El Gol, Tottenham Hotspur star Sergio Reguilon is being targeted by Premier League rivals Everton ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old Reguilon joined Tottenham last summer from Real Madrid and has quickly gone about establishing himself as a key member of the Spurs outfit. Indeed, the Spaniard has successfully displayed Ben Davies as the north London club’s first-choice left-back in his debut season in England.
In 24 games across all competitions, Reguilon has managed to contribute five assists, showing impressive attacking capabilities as well as reliability in his defensive work.
This has now seen Everton register an interest in signing Reguilon from Tottenham in the upcoming transfer window. The Toffees already have one of the most talented attacking left-backs in the Premier League in Lucas Digne.
However, the report claims that the Frenchman is a target for La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid, who will push to sign him in the summer. And Everton will look at Reguilon to replace the former Barcelona man, should he secure a return to Spain later this year.
As things stand, there’s not much separating Tottenham from Everton in the Premier League table. The Toffees are just a point and a place above Spurs in the standings and are not in a much better position with regards to qualifying for Champions League football. So, it is hard to imagine why Reguilon would want to trade Tottenham for Everton.

There is, however, the possibility of Reguilon returning to Real Madrid in the summer, given that the Merengues have a buyback clause inserted in the deal which saw Tottenham sign him,
A move to Everton, though, seems way too off the mark.
