Tottenham stars Harry Kane and Son Heung-min nominated for PL Player of the Year at London Football Awards 2021
According to ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur attackers, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have both been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Year honour at the London Football Awards 2021.
Harry Kane has been in scintillating form this season, having plundered 26 goals and 16 assists in 38 games across all competitions. The 27-year-old England captain has undoubtedly been the best centre-forward in England over the past year or so.
His teammate and partner-in-crime, Son Heung-min, has not been too far behind, enjoying a sensational season himself thus far. The 28-year-old South Korean international has accumulated a more than impressive tally of 18 goals and 16 assists in 41 games in all competitions.
The duo has struck up a deadly partnership in attack, breaking the Premier League record of most goal combinations in a single season, which was previously held by Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton. Naturally, their exploits on the field have earned them both nominations for the Best Player of the Year at the London Football Awards.
Kane and Son will battle for the honours with West Ham United’s midfield duo of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek. Chelsea’s rising star, Mason Mount is also on the shortlist for the award.
Kane and Son are not the only Tottenham players in the running for a prize at the London Football Awards. Fellow attacking partner Erik Lamela has also earned a nomination in the Goal of the Season category for his sensational Rabona finish in the derby against Arsenal last weekend.
