PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino wants a reunion with Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier
A report by Foot Mercato (h/t Football.london) mentions that former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino, hopes to sign Serge Aurier at PSG in the summer.
Pocchetino was, of course, the manager who brought the Ivory Coast international to London for a £23million transfer fee. Aurier also has a history with the French club.
He was at Parc des Prince from 2014 to 2017 before he decided to join Spurs. And now, the Argentine manager wants to reunite with the right-back.
The 28-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2022, and this is why Paris Saint-Germain smell a potential deal in the offing. If Spurs retain Aurier in the summer without renewing his contract, they could risk losing him for free.
A potential reunion
Aurier would be open to discussing terms for a free transfer with clubs outside England next year. Keeping this in mind, the French side believe a deal could be agreed for a fee as low as £10.3million.
The report goes on to mention that Pochettino is hoping to gain an advantage over other competitors for the Ivorian because they have worked in the past before.
The former Toulouse man had a difficult start to his Spurs career where he struggled to cement his place in the starting XI. But that has changed this season.
Aurier is a trusted player under Jose Mourinho and is starting games consistently. However, he is still having to divide game time with summer signing Matt Doherty.

Spurs do have Doherty and Japhet Tanganga who are capable of slotting in at right-back, but losing Aurier would take a good option away from Jose Mourinho when it comes to picking matchday squads.
