Tottenham Hotspur have concerns over Julian Nagelsmann appointment
According to The Times, Tottenham Hotspur have identified Julian Nagelsmann as the replacement for Jose Mourinho but have some concerns over the German.
Following the elimination of Tottenham from the UEFA Europa League, Jose Mourinho finds himself under intense scrutiny. The Portuguese is hanging on to his job by the thread, as failure to qualify for the Champions League next season could sound the death knell for his spell as Spurs manager.
Amidst this development, Tottenham have already identified potential replacements for Mourinho, with RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann at the top of the list. The 33-year-old has carved out a reputation for himself as one of the brightest young tactical minds in the game.
Having first earned his stripes at TSG Hoffenheim, Nagelsmann made the jump to RB Leipzig in 2019. In his very first season at the club, Nagelsmann led them to the second place in Bundesliga and the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League last season.
Given his exploits in Germany, Tottenham have narrowed down on him as a viable candidate to replace Mourinho at the end of the season.
However, the report goes on to add that despite all the positivity, there are some concerns within the Tottenham camp about the appointment of Nagelsmann. This is because there is a feeling that the 33-year-old could use the club as a stepping stone to make the move to a bigger team, with the likes of Real Madrid also courting him.
