Tottenham star Harry Kane nominated for Premier League Player of the Month Award

As confirmed by the club’s official Twitter handle, Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month Award for March.

The 27-year-old Kane has had a terrific 2020/21 campaign thus far, even though Spurs have faltered since the turn of the year. Till date, the England captain has plundered 27 goals and 16 assists in all competitions this season. In the Premier League, Kane has scored 17 goals while setting up 13 more for his teammates.

The month of March was another impressive one for our ace goalscorer as he played four matches, in which he contributed three goals and two assists. The academy graduate was on target in our final league game prior to the international break against Aston Villa, scoring the second goal from the penalty spot in a 2-0 win.

And now, his performances over this month have earned Kane a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month Award.

However, the England international is set to face fierce competition for the honour as his international teammates Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Jesse Lingard (West Ham United) are also in the running along with Leandro Trossard (Brighton & Hove Albion), Illan Meslier (Leeds United), Andreas Christensen (Chelsea), Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City) and Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City).

Kane may have performed admirably, but March ended on a sour note for Tottenham owing to defeats against Arsenal in the North London Derby and Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Europa League, with the latter resulting in elimination from the tournament.
