Transfer News: Sergio Aguero open to Tottenham switch in the summer
According to the news publication The Telegraph, Manchester City legend, Sergio Aguero would be open to a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
The 32-year-old Argentine striker, who is Manchester City’s all-time leading goalscorer, will be leaving the club at the end of the season, as was confirmed last week.
Aguero will be a free agent as his contract with the current Premier League leaders runs out, which has made him a transfer target for a host of top clubs across Europe. Barcelona have been touted as a destination for the centre-forward but is now claimed that he would be open to staying in the Premier League. (h/t The Telegraph)
Indeed, Aguero is keen on proving himself at a club other than Manchester City in England and add to his current tally of 257 goals in the country. To that end, he would also be willing to join a team that is not playing in the UEFA Champions League as well.
And the report further goes on to add that, Tottenham Hotspur is one club which he would be open to joining, along with our London rivals Chelsea.
As things stand, Tottenham have two centre-forwards in the form of Harry Kane and Carlos Vinicius. The latter, though, is only at the club on loan and will return to his parent club, SL Benfica, at the end of the season.
So, securing the transfer of another centre-forward becomes necessary for Jose Mourinho & co. unless they decide to sign Vinicius permanently. And, Aguero despite his age and recent injury problems, may well be an option worth looking at.

Easily one of the best ever strikers to have played in the Premier League, the Argentine could form a deadly combination up-top with Harry Kane, who has shown his full-range of playmaking abilities this term. His wages, however, could prove to be a hindrance.
