Tottenham ace Jack Clarke breaks silence after injury sees Stoke loan end
Taking to social media, Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jack Clarke has thanked Stoke City after his loan spell was terminated due to a serious injury.
Clarke arrived at Tottenham in the summer of 2019 from Leeds United. However, the young winger was immediately loaned back to Whites. Having struggled for game-time back at Elland Road, Tottenham cut his loan spell short and sent him to QPR for the second half of the 2019/20 campaign.
Clarke’s fortunes, however, didn’t improve at Loftus Road either, as he returned to the club at the end of the season. Having returned, the winger stayed with Spurs and trained with the first-team while also playing a few games for the reserves.
The January transfer window, though, saw Clarke leave on loan again, signing for Stoke City. The youngster had shown signs of promise with the Potters before an ankle injury cut short his stint. Stoke manager Michael O’Neill confirmed the news last week.
“Jack hasn’t gone yet but he’ll go this week. Unfortunately he won’t play again this season, he has ligament damage in his ankle. He had a scan yesterday so that’s disappointing.”
Breaking his silence for the first time since his injury, Clarke took to Instagram to thank Stoke City for the opportunity that they had provided him with. He wrote:
“Due to an injury setback, my time at Stoke has come to an end. Special thanks to everyone at the club for welcoming me in. All the best for the rest of the season @stokecity.”
