Transfer News: Tottenham join the race for Fiorentina rising star Dusan Vlahovic
According to transfer news from Football Transfer Tavern, Tottenham have entered the race to sign Dusan Vlahovic. Even rivals Arsenal are said to be after the player with both clubs entering into dialogue with the player’s agent.
The 21-year-old plays for Serie A side Fiorentina, who he joined from Serbian outfit Partizan Belgrade as a teenager in 2018. Having slowly risen to prominence at the club, Vlahovic is now the first-choice centre-forward at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
So far in the 2020/21 term, Vlahovic has managed an impressive return of 13 goals and two assists from 28 matches in Serie A. The youngster’s exploits with La Viola has now led to interest from a host of clubs including Tottenham Hotspur.
As the end of the season nears, the striker situation at Tottenham once again starts to pose a problem. Spurs signed Carlos Vinicius on loan last summer from Benfica. But the Brazilian has been used sparingly by the manager.
However, signing the Serbian international will be anything but straightforward as Arsenal are also in the running for his transfer. Apart from our rivals, the likes of Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid have all shown an interest in signing the 21-year-old.

Vlahovic is still very much in the early stages of his career but has shown potential. Fiorentina are keen on holding on to him but given the amount of interest, it will be interesting to see if he stays in Florence beyond this season. Should Tottenham decide to pass up on signing Vinicius on a permanent transfer, Vlahovic can be a suitable alternative.
