Transfer News: Tottenham to revisit their interest in Milan Skriniar

According to transfer news from Express, Tottenham could look to revisit their interest in Milan Skriniar. Spurs were after the signing of the Slovakian defender all summer last year. However, Inter Milan’s transfer fee demands meant that the pursuit ended without the desired result for us.

Another attempt was made to recruit the 26-year-old during the January transfer window but a move failed to materialise. Indeed, a deal worth £25m was close to being agreed upon before Inter Milan pulled the plug on the deal due to his impressive form.

Nonetheless, Tottenham still hold an interest in the Slovakian. Given that Inter Milan are in a difficult position financially, they could be forced into a sale at the end of the season. The Portuguese tactician has good connections at Inter, having won a treble with them during his time as manager at San Siro.

Considering that the likes of Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld have underperformed this season, bolstering the centre-back unit becomes an action of utmost importance for Tottenham in the summer.

Someone like Skriniar, who has been playing at the highest level in Italy for a number of years now, would undoubtedly be an excellent addition for us. Hopefully, the third time will be the charm for Mourinho and Tottenham as the club look to make another push to land the Slovakian international this summer.
