Tottenham star Harry Kane contacted by Mauricio Pochettino over summer transfer plans
According to Telefoot (h/t Mirror), Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane has been contacted by ex-manager Mauricio Pochettino to learn his transfer plans ahead of the summer window.
Kane, a product of the Tottenham youth academy, finds himself in a difficult situation heading into the summer. While he has been in prolific form once again this term, the chances of Tottenham finishing the season with a trophy are looking slim.
Plus there’s also the possibility of Jose Mourinho’s men missing out on Champions League football altogether next term – something which could force Kane to consider his future at the club. (h/t Mirror)
His current predicament has led to widespread interest in his services. While Tottenham will not let him join any other club in England, there are suitors for him outside as well, with PSG one among them. (h/t Mirror)
Kylian Mbappe is the French champions’ lead frontman currently. However, the former AS Monaco prodigy is entering the final year of his contract with the club and negotiations haven’t gone as per plans. If PSG fail to agree a new contract with him, they will look to cash in on him this summer.
That would leave them in need of a new striker and Harry Kane has emerged as a target, thanks to the presence of Pochettino in the PSG dugout. It was under his tutelage that the Englishman flourished at Tottenham. And, now Poch has contacted Kane to assess the possibility of a summer move as per the report. It also adds that PSG director Leonardo remains intent on signing Lionel Messi instead.
