Tottenham News: VfB Stuttgart to hold contract talks with transfer target Sasa Kalajdzic
According to German news publication SPORT BILD (h/t HITC), VfB Stuttgart have claimed that they will hold contract talks with Tottenham transfer target Sasa Kalajdzic.
Kalajdzic has been with Stuttgart since 2019 and has grown into a key players for the club. Having helped them earn promotion back to the Bundesliga, the towering striker has been in top form in his debut season in the German top-flight, bagging 14 goals in 28 league outings. The Austrian international striker’s exploits with the Bundesliga side have put him on the radars of a host of clubs in England. Tottenham are one of the suitors that have been credited with a transfer interest in Kalajdzic, along with London rivals West Ham United. (h/t Eurosport)
Kalajdzic is contracted with Stuttgart till the summer of 2023. However, the club are now planning to hold new contract talks with the striker amidst the transfer interest that he is attracting. Sven Mislintat, the director of the German club confirmed as much.
“We know how good he is. We will hold talks with Sasa by summer at the latest, either before or after the European Championships. It is not that we are currently throwing peanuts at Sasa. If he plays a lot and plays well, he can already grow financially. There are opportunities for improvement within his current contract.
“Sasa is completely relaxed. He also knows how we stood by him when he was injured (with an ACL rupture). We didn’t sign anyone for his position, we always believed in him. He’s giving it to us now back with heart and soul.”

With Carlos Vinicius’ loan deal expiring at the end of the season, a new striker will be needed at Tottenham in the summer. Kalajdzic has shown that he can be a top addition. It now remains to be seen if a move is indeed in the works to sign him.
