Roma enter the race for Tottenham linked Jannik Vestergaard
According to transfer news from Tuttomercatoweb, Roma have entered the race for Jannik Vestergaard who is a target for Tottenham. Roma are looking to refurbish their defence for next season and Vestergaard is an option being considered.
The 28-year-old Vestergaard has been with Tottenham since the summer of 2018, having arrived from German club Borussia Monchengladbach. During his three years at the club, the towering Dane has gradually grown into an integral member of the team.
Vestergaard had been quite impressive in the ongoing season as well, playing a key role in Southampton’s brilliant start to the season. And his performances, despite the Saints’ recent problems, have attracted the attention of clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus and Roma.
Tiago Pinto who is the General Manager at Roma is keen on Vestergaard and it has been said that a meeting between Pinto and Vertergaard’s representatives will be organized in the coming weeks. Juventus have been touted to be potential suitors for the Dane.

However, now it becomes even more difficult to prise away Vestergaard with Roma set to enter talks with the player. Vestergaard would have been a good option to pursue given that, at 28, he is in his prime years and would have been an upgrade on the current crop of defenders at the club.
