Tottenham Transfer News: Jack Clarke wanted by Nottingham Forest
According to transfer news from The Athletic (subscription required), Nottingham Forest are interested in Tottenham winger Jack Clarke. The youngster was on loan at Championship side Stoke City but had to return after an ankle injury ended his season.
Clarke signed for Tottenham Hotspur back in the summer of 2019 but was immediately loaned out to boyhood club Leeds United. Having failed to get game time under Marcelo Bielsa, the youngster was called back midway through the campaign to be sent out to QPR for the second half of the 2019/20 season.
Clarke did not fare too well with the Rs with regards to his game time. Having returned to Tottenham at the end of the campaign, the young winger enjoyed some prominent game time during the short pre-season. But that did not translate into regular playing time with the first-team once the season started.
While he did make sporadic appearances, Tottenham decided to loan him out in January, with the youngster signing for Stoke City. And Clarke has fared much better than his last two temporary stints, starting six games for the Potters along with eight more appearances from the bench before an ankle injury ended his season and he returned to Spurs.
Nottingham and Chris Hughton are already looking towards next season and they have identified certain targets, one of which is Jack Clarke. The club want to add attackers to the side after struggling for goals this campaign. The 20-year-old is blessed with pace and likes to take on his opponents, something Forest are keenly in need of.
