Tottenham hierarchy left furious over timing of Harry Kane news leak

According to the Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick, Tottenham Hotspur have been left fuming over the timing of the leak of news that Harry Kane is seeking an exit from the club.

Sky Sports dropped a bombshell on Monday night reporting that Tottenham superstar Kane had informed the club that he wants to leave at the end of the season.

The report claimed that Kane had informed Tottenham of his decision that he has heart set on an exit, but he wanted to stay in the Premier League. There has been strong interest in the England captain with Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United all interested. In fact, the trio is said to have already established contact with the representatives of the 27-year-old.

It also stated that Tottenham had reluctantly started to sound out possible targets to replace Kane, in case an exit does end up materializing.

An alternate report from Football.london did refute those claims, insisting that Kane was frustrated at Tottenham but had not taken any drastic steps to force through an exit come summer.

As the fallout from the news continues, now, Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick has revealed that the Tottenham hierarchy have been left furious by the timing of the leak of the reports. The club are said to be unhappy as the team is still battling for European spots and the development now puts interim manager Ryan Mason in a difficult position when he goes out to attend press conferences before the end of the season.

If true, this is indeed a shocking development. While one wouldn’t begrudge Kane for wanting to leave in search of trophies, after everything he has done for the team, the manner in which the entire story is unraveling does not paint a pretty picture. A long saga beckons?
