Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur offered Andrea Belotti for £25m
According to The Daily Mail, Torino have offered Tottenham Hotspur the chance to sign their ace striker Andrea Belotti for £25m ahead of the summer transfer window.
In Harry Kane, Tottenham have one of the best strikers in world football. The English skipper leads the Premier League in both goals and assists this season and is indispensable to the team. However, with him keen to leave, we will need to replace a monster of a player upfront.
Belotti has built up a solid reputation for himself in Italy. A consistent performer, he has scored 13 goals and assisted seven more in 34 appearances this season. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The Italian is set to enter the final year of his contract with Torino and the Italians have a decision to make this summer. And, among the clubs interested in securing the signing of Belotti are Tottenham Hotspur.
Not only Kane but Carlos Vinicius is also reaching the end of his loan spell at the end of the season. It is imperative that we bring in a top goalscorer who can at the very least not place too much pressure on the likes of Son Heung-Min.
A familiar nemesis
Tottenham will have to contend with competition from fellow Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool for Belotti’s signing. The likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan and AS Roma are also interested in the striker. (h/t Tuttosport)
Interestingly, Spurs may have to go head to head against Jose Mourinho to land Belotti. The Portuguese manager is set to take over AS Roma in the summer and is keen to sign Belotti.
The Italian has continued to impress despite Torino’s struggles this season. He could thrive playing alongside better players in North London. He has managed to score more than ten goals in each of the last five Serie A campaigns.

It is nigh on impossible to replace Kane with a like-to-like player. Belotti is by no means a bad player but comparing him to Kane would only see us end up getting disappointed.
