Jose Mourinho remains interested in Tottenham ace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
According to Football Insider (h/t Shields Gazette), former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is intent on signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg at his new club, AS Roma in the summer.
Mourinho was sacked from Tottenham Hotspur last month after a year and a half in charge at the club, following a disappointing run of results. Soon after being discharged from his duties, the Portuguese landed himself a new job as he is set to replace Paulo Fonseca as the manager of Serie A side AS Roma at the end of the season.
Even though he is yet to assume duties at Stadio Olimpico, Mourinho is already chalking out plans for the upcoming transfer window and has one Tottenham star firmly in his sights. That player is none other than Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The Danish international joined Tottenham only last summer from Southampton in a deal worth just £15m. And the move has proved to a huge bargain for Spurs, considering that Hojbjerg has been one of our most impressive players this season.
The combative midfielder brings a lot of value to the team with his all-action nature and leadership characteristics. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Mourinho is now seeking to reunite with his former midfield lieutenant at his new club in the Italian capital.

The 25-year-old, though, is contracted with Tottenham till the summer of 2025 and given his standing within the side, there is absolutely no way that the club would entertain any offers for him in the upcoming transfer window. Mourinho would be better off focusing his attentions elsewhere.
