Will Harry Kane leave Tottenham?

Tottenham ace Harry Kane set to be offered £300k-a-week deal by Man City, United

According to The Sun, Manchester City and Manchester United are both prepared to offer a bumper £80m pay packet in order to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

Ever since Sky Sports dropped a bombshell claiming that Kane had informed Tottenham that he wanted to leave the club at the end of the season, the England captain has been invariably dominating the headlines.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be interested in signing Kane from Tottenham. But the report claims that it will be a straight battle between the two Mancunian outfits for the signing of the 27-year-old.

And, both City as well as United are prepared to offer Kane a mammoth £80m pay packet in order to convince him to make the jump. That sum would translate to a five-year contract with £300,000-a-week basic salary. In addition to that, the clubs plan to offer him various performance-related bonuses as well, which would make Kane one of the best-paid players in England. (h/t The Sun)

Such a package would see Kane’s current wages at Tottenham get increased by £70,000-a-week.

The report further adds that despite the interest from both Manchester clubs, Kane favours a transfer to Manchester City. The Red Devils, though, are not willing to go down without a fight and believe that they can convince the England captain to join them.

The situation is such that an exit looks a strong possibility, with Tottenham having to start over a new project under a new manager, meaning the chances of Kane winning a trophy would be slimmer than they would at City under Pep Guardiola.

However, Daniel Levy is known to be a tough negotiator and it remains to be seen if he is able to price out the Mancunian clubs from a transfer.
