Tottenham and Arsenal interested in Max Aarons and Emerson Royal

According to the Express, Tottenham Hotspur could be set to square off with arch-rivals Arsenal for two transfer targets in Norwich City’s Max Aarons and Real Betis defender Emerson Royal.

Aarons, a product of the Norwich youth academy, has grown into one of the most exciting young right-backs in the country. The Englishman has enjoyed a rapid rise in stature, having helped the Canaries to promotion in 2018/19 and impressing in the Premier League last season even though the team ended up getting relegated.

Aarons has once again essayed a critical role as Norwich once again won promotion to the Premier League. However, he might not remain at Carrow Road for long as he is attracting interest from Tottenham as well as Arsenal. (h/t Express)

As for Emerson, the Brazilian arrived in Spain in January 2019 from Atletico Mineiro, in a deal that saw Real Betis and Barcelona share part-ownership of the full-back. Having now spent two-and-a-half years with Betis, the 22-year-old will return to Barcelona at the end of the season but could be on the move again with interest from both the London clubs. Either of Aarons or Emerson would be a handy addition to the squad, in that respect. Both are young, dynamic and have shown a lot of potential so far in their burgeoning careers. It now remains to be seen who we do sign and and who ends up joining Arsenal.
