Transfer News: Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has mind made up about Tottenham Hotspur future
As per Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (h/t ESPN), Gareth Bale has his mind made up about his Real Madrid future as a return to Tottenham Hotspur is not off the cards.
The Welsh winger is set to finalize his call once the two clubs clarify the situations regarding their managers. Ryan Mason was the interim manager until the end of the season after Jose Mourinho was sacked in April. However, Spurs are tipped to find a permanent manager by next season.
Bale joined Spurs under Mourinho last summer on a one-year loan deal and played 20 games in the league in the 2020/21 season.
He took his league goals tally to 11 after his crucial brace against Leicester City on Sunday that confirmed European football for the club. And speaking after the match, he said that his mind is made about what he wants to do next season.
Where to next?
The 31-year-old added that he will wait until the end of the UEFA European Championship this summer to reveal his decision.
“I know what I am doing but it will just cause chaos if I say anything. It just has to happen after the Euros. I know what I’m doing but it’ll just cause chaos if I say anything now. I am not thinking about anything other than Wales.”
The report adds that Tottenham have ‘first refusal’ on signing Bale permanently if he departed Madrid. He has been vital for the club this season after a slow start to the campaign.
