Tottenham Hotspur may consider a bid for Harry Kane if Manchester City offer Gabriel Jesus plus cash
According to the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur could be tempted into parting ways with Harry Kane if Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City offer striker Gabriel Jesus in part exchange.
The Spurs ace’s future has been cast into doubt after yet another trophy-less campaign in North London. Kane is already 27 and in his prime but yet to win a single major trophy with Tottenham. He could very well seek greener pastures elsewhere this summer.
Given how reliant the club is on Kane, chairman Levy is reluctant to offload the striker. This has seen him slap an eye-watering £200m price tag to stave off suitors. (h/t Express)
However, if the worst comes to pass, Spurs will not just demand top dollar but also need to replace the English skipper. As one of the most prolific strikers in world football, replacing Kane will be no mean feat.
One of the players Spurs consider acceptable is Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian is valued at £70 million. Offering him in exchange along with a similar amount in cash should do the trick. (h/t Daily Star)
According to the report, Guardiola is reluctant to part ways with the 24-year-old. City would rather offer Nathan Ake in exchange, it will offer us little help in signing a replacement for Kane. More so, given our need, other clubs may also look to rip us off in our search for a new striker. It makes sense for us to receive a replacement as part of the deal while also have money to strengthen other areas of the pitch.
Full steam ahead?
Guardiola is still smarting off a defeat in the UEFA Champions League final against Chelsea. The City side looked woefully short of ideas and lacked to create any clear cut chances on the night. With Sergio Aguero gone, it is clear that City needs a new striker who can lead the line with aplomb.
In Kane, they can have just that. Whether their finals defeat will spur them on even further in their pursuit of the Tottenham ace remains to be seen. Thankfully given the length of Kane’s contract, Tottenham are in a position of strength regarding negotiations.

Whether Mauricio Pochettino’s potential return will convince Kane to stay on for another season remains to be seen. With the managerial hotseat currently unoccupied, Spurs are doing themselves no favours by not addressing it as soon as possible.
