Mauricio Pochettino wants to leave PSG amid Tottenham Hotspur links
A report by Goal (h/t Mirror) states that Mauricio Pochettino has told PSG that he wants to leave the club, as links to former side Tottenham Hotspur continue.
He was sacked by Daniel Levy in November 2019 but apparently still has good relations with him. On the other hand, it is said he does not see eye-to-eye with Leonardo at PSG, which could work in Spurs’ favour.
The Argentine never won a trophy with Spurs but got them a long way from where they were in 2014 to becoming 2019 UEFA Champions League finalists. He then took charge of PSG when Thomas Tuchel was sacked earlier this season.
But he has not found it easy in France. Lille beat PSG to the league title this year and PSG failed to impress in Europe as well.
A reunion on the cards?
Amidst this, the former Southampton manager is linked with a return to N17 in a bid to replace the fired Jose Mourinho in a permanent capacity. Ryan Mason is currently the interim manager but the club will appoint a new manager soon. (h/t Mirror)
Pochettino already knows a lot of player at Spurs and most of them have reached their true potential under him. It would a great reunion for fans and players alike because of how well the Argentine knows the club.
But the report says there are two conditions that should be met if Spurs want their man – the 49-year-old wants a long-term contract as well as complete control over transfer activities.
