Wilfried Zaha backed to exit Crystal Palace amid Tottenham speculations
According to the Express, former Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie has backed Wilfried Zaha to leave the club amid links with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
Zaha came through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace and earned his first big move in 2013 when he signed for Manchester United. However, having been signed by Sir Alex Ferguson, the winger was completely overlooked by his successor David Moyes.
And after loan spells away at Cardiff City and Palace, he sealed a permanent return to Selhurst Park in 2015 and has since gone onto develop himself into one of the most dangerous wingers in the Premier League. The 2020/21 campaign saw the 28-year-old produce a tally of 11 goals and 2 assists from 30 league appearances.
Heading into the summer though, Zaha’s future is far from certain, as he gets linked with a move to a bigger club. Tottenham and Arsenal have both been credited with an interest in the Ivory Coast international. And, Bolasie, his ex-teammate, has backed him to secure a transfer away as he would regret not getting another shot with a big club after his failed stint at United. (h/t Express)
“Obviously I don’t talk for Wilf, but I think with Wilf – with his talent and his ability – I think he loves Palace with all of his heart but if he did end up seeing out his career at Palace then in his head he would have some regrets as a player who wants to see himself at the highest level possible.
“No offence to anyone at Palace because Palace are the team that made him and me but knowing Wilf and what he is like he would have regrets.”

With Gareth Bale’s loan deal coming to an end and Steven Bergwijn failing to perform, adding another dynamic wide player like Zaha would be a smart move by Tottenham. The 28-year-old still has two years on his contract with Crystal Palace, who are set for a managerial change this summer.
It remains to be seen if he stays with the Eagles for another season or seeks pastures new.
