Harry Kane refuses to be drawn in talks of Pochettino return to Tottenham
Speaking in an interview with the ES Magazine (h/t Evening Standard), Tottenham star Harry Kane refused to comment on the speculations linking former manager Mauricio Pochettino with a return to the club.
Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham in November 2019 following a poor start to the season. However, heading into the upcoming campaign, the Argentine has been linked with a sensational return to the club. Indeed, Spurs are said to have held talks with Pochettino over returning, while the 49-year-old himself is believed to be keen. (h/t Evening Standard)
Kane, when quizzed about his thoughts about such a move happening, refused to comment.
However, the England captain did open up on the relationship and the equation that he shared with Pochettino. It was, after all, under his tutelage that Kane grew into the world-beater that he is today. And, the Tottenham superstar insisted that his relationship with Poch was beyond that of a player-manager, calling him a great friend. (h/t Evening Standard)
“We had a great relationship. He is a great person, a great friend. He was the boss, the leader, the one that set the standards in how we played and how we trained. So friendship would never get in the way of what he did on the football side of things. But we became friends in that the things we did and talked about went beyond football.”

Despite all the humdrum around Pochettino’s potential return to Tottenham, latest news is claiming that it could be Antonio Conte who ends up becoming the next manager of the club. Whether the Italian’s potential arrival convices Kane, who is angling for a summer exit, remains to be seen.
