Transfer news: Tottenham Hotspur interested in Kyle Joseph
According to transfer news from Wales Online, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing young striker Kyle Joseph from Wigan Athletic but will face competition from a host of clubs.
A product of the Wigan youth academy, Joseph has been with the club since 2004. Having made eight appearances for the club’s U-18 outfit, the 19-year-old made his first-team debut in October last year.
Since then, Joseph has gone on to feature 20 appearances for the Latics in all competitions, finding the back of the net on five occasions while setting up one more goal. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Joseph is out of contract with Wigan Athletic this summer, which has led to widespread interest in his services. Indeed, the likes of Swansea City, Newcastle United, Sheffield United, Preston North End are all interested, as are Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers. And, also on the list of the potential suitors for the teenage forward are Tottenham Hotspur. (h/t Wales Online)
This is not the first time Spurs have been linked with a move for Joseph, with reports earlier this year also having credited the London giants with an interest in his services.
With Dane Scarlett breaking through the ranks and Troy Parrott returning after his loan spell, Tottenham do have couple of promising young strikers in the ranks already. But, adding Joseph, who will be available on a free transfer would only bode well for the club in the future.

Joseph has a contract offer on the table from Wigan Athletic, as things stand. But it remains to be seen whether the young Scotsman decides to pen a new deal and stay with the Latics or take on a new challenge in his fledgeling career.
