Report: Antonio Conte likely to be unveiled as next Tottenham Hotspur manager

According to Football.london’s Alasdair Gold, former Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is likely to be unveiled as the next Tottenham Hotspur manager by club chairman Daniel Levy.

This development comes after reports on Wednesday evening emerged that Tottenham were in ‘advanced’ talks to secure the services of the Italian tactician.

Tottenham have been in the hunt for a new manager for over a month now, having sacked Jose Mourinho towards the end of April. Despite having been linked with a host of candidates, an appointment was yet to be made. However, it seems like the club has finally found the man to succeed Mourinho as the next full-time manager, in Conte.

The mercurial Italian is coming on the back of a hugely successful season during which he led Inter Milan to the Serie A title. However, a disagreement with board over the future plans meant he decided to quit and is now poised to become the next Tottenham manager. (h/t Football.london)

In addition to Conte’s imminent appointment, the report also adds that Tottenham will also secure the services of Fabio Paratici as the director of football. The 48-year-old was Juventus’ transfer chief for eleven years and worked with Conte during his time as the Bianconeri boss.

Paratici quit the Juventus director role at the end of the 2020/21 season, and is now set to be reunited with Conte at Tottenham, according to Football.london.

Conte is a proven winner, having won six league titles during his managerial career – one in Serie B, four Serie A titles (3 Juventus, 1 Inter Milan) and one Premier League title with Chelsea. His appointment will be a major coup for Spurs as they look to return to challenging for the title and end their trophy drought, following a lean season under Mourinho.
