Tottenham ace Cameron Carter-Vickers wanted by Newcastle, Anderlecht and Club Brugge
According to VoetbalKrant (h/t Football.london), Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is seemingly a man in demand as three clubs are vying for his signing this summer.
Carter-Vickers came through the Tottenham youth academy. He made his first-team debut back in 2016 but has featured just four times for the senior team so far. The 24-year-old has had loan spells at Swansea City, Ipswich Town, Sheffield United, Stoke City and Luton Town in the past.
The 2020/21 campaign saw Carter-Vickers sign for Bournemouth on a season-long loan deal. And he enjoyed a fairly decent season as the Cherries finished in the playoff places but couldn’t make it to the playoff finals. The centre-back featured in 26 games across all competitions, scoring one goal and setting up another. (h/t Transfermarkt)
With his loan deal expired, Carter-Vickers is staring at an uncertain future at Tottenham, although he has previously hinted that he would be open to returning to Bournemouth. The Cherries, too, are keen on signing the USMNT star on a permanent basis.
But with no movement happening on that front as of yet, Newcastle United have emerged as a potential destination for Carter-Vickers, while two of Belgium’s biggest clubs – RSC Anderlecht and Club Brugge have also now entered the race for the 24-year-old defender’s signing. (h/t Football.london)
Carter-Vickers was in the final year of his contract with Tottenham but the club are believed to have triggered a one-year extension option to protect his transfer value.
