Wantaway Tottenham star Harry Kane to put future talks on hold until after the Euros
According to the Evening Standard, wantaway Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane will put talks of his future on hold to focus on the upcoming UEFA Euro 2020.
Towards the end of the 2020/21 season, Kane rocked the boat by informing Tottenham that he wanted to leave the club in the upcoming summer and sought a resolution on his future before the European Championships kicked off.
This has sparked a flurry of interest in Kane’s services, with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all getting in touch with his representatives over a potential switch this summer.
However, as per the report, Kane is now resigned to the fact that no major movement is likely before the Euros start, with the summer extravaganza just over a week away. And, as a result, the 27-year-old, who will be leading England in the tournament, has decided to put talks of his future at club level on pause until the Euros are out of the way.
Even if talks continue behind the scenes, Kane will not be involved in any discussions and keep his eye entirely on the England team and the Euros. This development comes after the striker, in a recent interview, claimed that he would consider it a big failure if he did not win any silverware with the Three Lions.
“I think if I finish my career as a footballer without winning a major trophy for England, I would see that as a failure. I know we are still progressing, still got room to improve, but that is the goal and I think we can do that.”
