Transfer News: Borussia Monchengladbach reveal their stance over Tottenham target Jonas Hofmann

According to transfer news from Inside Futbol, Borussia Monchengladbach have made it clear that they will not sell Tottenham target, Jonas Hofmann. Sporting Director Max Eberl wants to keep the player but conceded that a high bid will force him to sell.

A youth product of TSG Hoffenheim, Hofmann has spent his whole career in Germany. He has had stints with TSG Hoffenheim, Borussia Dortmund, FSV Mainz and Borussia Monchengladbach. However, it was only after his move to Gladbach that he started to gain some consistency.

Now, as Hofmann wraps up his career-best season with 8 goals and 13 assists in 33 games, interest in the player is starting to grow. Chelsea and Tottenham are the two Premier League clubs who have shown interest. There is some interest from La Liga clubs as well.

Gladbach will only sell Hofmann for the right price

However, Gladbach’s sporting director, Max Eberl has quashed any such interest and wants to keep the winger. However, he had to accept the fact that if a bid in excess of €40m was made, the German club would be forced to consider letting him go.

Gladbach’s sporting director, Max Eberl

“We live in a time when nothing can be ruled out. But we certainly don’t want to sell Jonas. If at some point a club say they are offering €40m for Jonas, no club can say that we are not interested.“

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

Hofmann has a contract with Gladbach that runs till the summer of 2023. While it has been claimed that Hofmann can be signed for around €15m, the new price tag suggests that the German outfit will try to get as much as they can.

With Chelsea also interested in securing his services, it remains to be seen if Spurs do make an attempt to capture the winger’s transfer.
