The potential role of Fabio Paratici in appointing new Tottenham Hotspur manager

Speaking in a Q&A session, Alasdair Gold of Football.london revealed that the impending announcement of Fabio Paratici will have everything to do with Tottenham Hotspur appointing their new manager.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fabio Paratici is all set to be announced as the new Director of Football at Spurs. And his role in appointing the new Spurs boss is now revealed.

Gold stated that the whole purpose of getting the ex-Juventus man in at Tottenham is for him to appoint a manager of his choice.

“The whole purpose of this structure is that the sporting director, director of football, general manager, or whatever you want to call it, must choose the head coach they want to work with.”

The wait goes on

And this, according to him, would mean that the list of potential managers drawn up before the Italian’s arrival would go out of the window. It is now up to Paratici to come in and choose who should take over the managerial helm at Spurs.

“That means Spurs’ previous list will be dispensed with and the Italian will choose his man. He has already begun work to that effect and we’ll see now how long it takes him to decide and negotiate with the person and then for Levy to deliver.”

It seems like ages ago when the news of Jose Mourinho’s sacking broke. Since then, Ryan Mason has functioned in the capacity of an interim manager but it is evident that the 29-year-old is not going to be serving in a permanent position when the next season starts.

Spurs fans would hope that Levy and co. come to a strong solution for the current issue at hand. The club needs a quality manager to guide them to their first trophy in 13 years. And that is by no means an easy job in today’s hyper-competitive footballing environment.
