Transfer News: Tottenham could look to snap Ethan Horvath for free

According to transfer news from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are preparing to sign Ethan Horvath on a free transfer. The Club Brugge keeper will be out of contract at the end of the month and isn’t willing to renew with the Belgian side.

Hugo Lloris has been with Tottenham Hotspur since the summer of 2012 when he arrived from Ligue 1 club, Olympique Lyon. Over the course of his nine-year stint in north London, the goalkeeper has grown into a club icon and was one of the best in the league during his peak.

However, over the past couple of seasons, Lloris has started to show signs of age catching up with him. Even though there have been some fine performances between the sticks, there also have been occasions when he has made grievous errors that hurt the team.

That has made Spurs look at potential options to provide competition. One option they are looking at is that of Ethan Horvath for Club Brugge. The American can be signed on a free transfer after his deal at the club ends. He has been playing second fiddle to Simon Mignolet and wants out.

Spurs could use a new face in between the posts. Lloris and Joe Hart are ageing and adding Horvath might be a good way to boost the side. The bonus would be signing him on a free transfer. Horvath has been in good form with the USMNT and won the CONCACAF Nations League.
